MTH Premier Nickel Plate Berkshires (2-8-4) #765 & #779 double-headed steam locomotives in action. #765 was a PS1 locomotive that I converted to PS2. Please visit my web site - http://www.toytrains1.com -to see lots more videos of model (and real) trains in action! A NEW VIDEO OF THE DOUBLE-HEADED BERKSHIRES HAS BEEN SHOT IN TRUE HD 1080p! • Could you do a video showing only NKP 765? Your only video shows it doubleheaded.

  • @PereMarquette1223 Since I'm reshooting most of the old videos in True HD 1080p, I will shoot the 765 and the 779 separately as well as doubleheaded.

  • Does your 765 Berkshire have all of the PS2 features of the 779 Berkshire? Are there any limitations with the aftermarket upgrade from PS1 to PS2? I may have an opportunity to buy the PS1 765 Berkshire for less than $450 and am wondering if it's worth buying and upgrading to PS2 as opposed to buying a factory-equipped PS2 Berkshire. Thanks.

  • The only difference between a locomotive that originally comes with PS2 and one that is upgraded from PS1 to PS2 is that the upgrade still makes use of the PS1 constant voltage board which means that some of the lighting is on as long as there is track power whereas an original PS2 will be completely dark until you do a DCS startup. Other than that, they work identically.

  • Do you have Pere Marquette 1225?

  • yes Lima built and invented these locomotives. Lima invented the 2-8-4 wheel arrangement when they were improving on the design of the 2-8-2 mikado. Sometimes railroaders called the berks "Big Mikes".

  • How can you afford all these premiers they are so nice but DAMN they must be expensive

  • yahh they did. My great grandfather used to work for lima
