(Mystic Bowie) Foundation (Mystic Bowie Cultural Center) Charity Event (Norwalk CT) Sponsored By (Michael Sautkulis) (Merritt Wines) Norwalk CT and Norwalk CT Mayor Moccia on March 19, 2009 held at The Norwalk Town Hall was a sensational success in support of the Mystic Bowie Cultural Center in Jamaica and The Mayor of Norwalk CT (Dick Moccia) Summer Youth Employment Program.

About the Mystic Bowie Cultural Center:
The (Mystic Bowie) Cultural Center is dedicated to enriching the lives of the children of St. Elizabeth's Parish in Jamaica. Mystic's multi-Cultural programs are designed to unlock the potential of the children through Music, Drama, and Sports. Our mission is to use these as a springboard to help each child improve the skills needed for success in life.

It has been Mystic's dream to give something back to the people of his community, the people of St. Elizabeth's Parish. Ten years ago on a whim he drew a sketch of what he hoped would be a center of music & sports for the community. Today, Mystic's original sketch is the basis for the building plan. to help Mystic make his dream come true, (The Mystic Bowie Cultural Center Foundation) was established to build in St. Elizabeth's Parish. The Foundation has partnered with MIMA Music and Trilogy Sports Camps to coordinate programming.


Norwalk CT Mayor Dick Moccia's "Summer Youth Employment Program":
The Mayor's "Summer Youth Employment Program", administrered by the City of Norwalk CT provides jobsfor young people, ages 14-18, so they can learn to navigate in a buisness environmrent, contribute to the community, gain life skills, explore a specific profession and earn money.

The program operates 6 weeks during the summer. Before the young people are assigned to a specific work site, they spend one week in intensive workshops where they are taught appropriate business behavior, business dress, and employer expectations. Staff visit them on the job to monitor theri progress and discuss their performance with their employer.

Without enough jobs and funding, youth are turned awayeach year and many young people who could benefit this summer will spend the summer unoccupied. The program's goal is to provide at least 220 youth a chnace to learn & earn this summer. Please conside participating by offering a job or maing a donation.
