Mike Bloomfield: Drinking Wine Live!!

I was there at the Monterey gathering. Bloomfield was rockin n a rollin. At his night show he was sportin an afro. They had ultra violet spot lights in them days and when they shined the spot light on him.....his afro glowed like a purple halo!

Golden Bear. Wow, a lifetime ago, man.

That was Harvey Brooks on that Fender Jazzbass, Bloomfield built Electric Flag around Harvey and Buddy's freight train rhythm..

Saw the Electric Flag live @ The Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, CA late '67 (?) and they just blew the roof off of that place. I'm a huge Bloomfield fan, but those horns just added that extra dimension w/ Buddy Miles on drums. Have seen tons of live shows: Cream, Clapton 90's & '07, SRV, Albert, BB, Buddy & the list goes on & on......but the Flag live to this day for me was still one of the best performances I have ever witnessed. Remember it like it was yesterday, sort of. :-))

I knew Buddy and Nick Gravenites. I was in JAIL with Buddy and, he seemed ok to me. It was good to see the three of them again. Thanks to whomever posted this buttkicking clip!

Yes, Michael Bloomfield is dead. I believe he died in '81...
