that is a video card - hardware problem...dell is not using durable parts because most of them were assembled in china...

I used to have the same problem with my computer but a bit different...i could see my desktop for 5 seconds and then my computer was reset X) i format him and was ok, this is caused from the graphic card and some games and programs which change some visual styles or make some settings on the graphic card (like some games)
