Elohiym is ONLY Light (1 Yochanan 1:5) so in Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning Elohiym created..." in Light. Darkness was ONLY on the face of the abyss (Gen 1:2). Genesis 1:3, Elohiym amar HaYaH or, HaYaH or ... I AM Light, I AM Light.

Elohiym created the first 3 days without the two great lights of the sun and moon. He began each day with His Light and when He stopped it became evening and night. He first called the light 'day' (Gen 1:5) which begins each of His days (Ecclesiastes 1:5). Halal YaH!
