This is Paddy enjoying his breakfast (with a guest appearance by my cat Mishka). He is a swamp wallaby I cared for, for a few months in 2010. It was such an amazing experience. I am a registered wildlife carer with the Ipswich Koala Protection Society... He is NOT my pet, he is beautiful & I miss him a lot (he is now starting to be slow released back into the wild) but I would never have wanted to keep him as a pet as wild = wild. I think people who have wild animals as pets are cruel... Anyway; if you would like more information on Paddys story go to http://bellainbindyland.blogspot.com/ there are a ton of blogs on him in there!!
Enjoy.

  • Thanks so much! I LOVED caring for him, I would love to care for another or even a possum, but I'm getting married in July so life is hetic right now & those little guys need care 24/7 & it makes you pretty house bound! lol

Yep wild animals deserve to be wild. It broke my heart handing him over for rehabilitation (I had him for nearly 6months & spent everday with him, he was like my baby!) but it was the best thing for him.

Thanks for the comment. You are so lucky to have wallabies visit you!x

  • I actually cant stop watching this video. He is possibly one of the cutest things i have ever seen.

One of my wallabies is right outside my door now :)

    Congrats on getting married :)

  • That is so cute :)

There are two swamp wallabies that come to my house to eat food that i put out for them. They both have young joeys - they barely have any hair yet.

I have a video up of one of them. I agree with you on the whole not keeping wild animals as pets. my wallabies live in the forest near my house but pay frequent visits.

and i loved the song :)
