good for you for calling corporate! that is exactly the right course of action. they treated you poorly - multiple times! and I'm saddened especially that it was a Christian store. You're right that people just don't have common sense about handicaps. Even I, as a POTSie, don't know what to say or what kind of help to offer sometimes.
I haven't had to use a wheelchair, but I do get funny looks when I'm leaning against a wall or counter at a store. Because I'm young, people assume I'm lazy.

Glad you don't have MS! Such good news : )
When I had dye for the head/brain, I didn't get any reactions. When I had dye for my stomach I had reactions and broke out with red rashes all over & was itchy. I don't think the dye was necessarily different, sometimes I react & sometimes I don't? Good-luck you that! Hope you don't!
I haven't really had much discrimination, I just get a lot of weird looks! At a lot of places, there aren't chairs where you can sit while your walking in the store...
I think ur so right!
lol you're too cute going off on the cheese then forgetting where you were in ur story ROFL!! typical potsy moment!
I always get discrimination when I'm in my chair, I hate it too, but after awhile you do get kind of used to it sadly!

@FlyinHyy Yeah, I get distracted very easily. Epecially when it comes to food and being potsy

so I have to sit on the dirty floor & people just look at me funny.
Or I will ask people if I can sit somewhere & they look and me funny and say, sorry you just have to stand. Why is something wrong with you? That can be very frustrating!! I totally see where your coming from, it's hard when people like us "look normal" on the outside and feeling like you have to explain yourself.. or even worse, feeling like you have to defend yourself!
Take care!!! Good-luck with your brain scan : )

@AmbivalentBliss I usually try to make it through stores and other places on my own, but most stores I go in down here are not very potsie person friendly. It is almost always too hot and muggy inside, or like you said, there are not enough chairs around.

I don't think it's that they were treating you like that because they thought you were handicapped. They probably saw you walk in and then saw you in the wheelchair, so they thought you were faking. Or maybe since it was a christian store, they figured you were handicapped because Yahweh was punishing you for something.

@PluralOfEverything It doesn't matter what they were thinking. Since they work for a business that serves the public, they are required to act like professionals by the people they work for. Being rude and unprofessional is never ok no matter what the situation is in a place of business.
