In world war II in real life in europe. You had american soldiers including black soldiers sleeping with european women. Can't deny it. As long as their are movies with black women in love with white men they are happy not the other way around. In movies like The body guard and mission impossible 2 the white hero kills the bad guys and get's the girl which a black women. If it were the other way around a Black Man saving a White Woman. Black Women would be angry as hell.

But its one pilot, the OTHER pilots have black wives, right? I'm going to see it tomorrow, so we'll see, but from what I read, its practically a cameo and doesn't subvert from the plot at all.

Just responding to your comment. I doubt that this will create more scripts for black women why would they do that? I mean look how the whole 3D thing took off after Avatar? Hollywood follows trends and if thats stories with black men as heroes that gets the bucks then why change that up for an unknown risk especially considering that most were unwilling to finance this and Lucas had to come out of his own pocket.

I never said stuff had to be big budget, I was just pointing out the possibilities.
Back to my example about black films in the 90's, in the early 90's popular blk films were about gangster life and racism. It transcended to relationships and family oriented type films in the mid 90's. So the blk films of the 90's changed and evolved.
Hypothetically speaking, "if" Red Tails is a success and Tyler Perry wanted to write about a script about Bessie Coleman, Hollywood may take a look cont.

at it. It may not have the funding like Red Tails (with Lucas big bank account) but it could be a indie type film exploring a different dynamic of the blk experience with blk women in the military. With Perry's rep for bringing in the blk female's to theater there is a chance for it to happen. But, like I said before, Hollywood is a gamble.
