Video of the flashmob protest one day after the execution of Troy Davis, a man believed to be innocent of the crimes charged against him. Protesters were harassed by NYPD, pushed and shoved, and one protester was peeled away from the crowd, shoved the floor, and arrested.

Is Mayor Michael Bloomberg sanctioning this kind of behaviour by the NYPD ? What is City Council Speaker Christine Quinn's opinion about the NYPD's use of weapons and vehicles against passionate citizen assembly in protest of the death penalty ?

  • @NewbianGem7 when you see yourself in central booking in the bronx or brooklyn, try to preach and help them out and see how many of them want to hug you and hold your hand and cheer.

  • @NewbianGem7 police protect the rich? you think that's what they tell them at roll call, "alright guys we're to here to lock up minorities and protect rich white people." are you retarded? you obviously have no idea what the heck you're talking about, you've not done 5 years in a prison, or as a service man, just some liberal that makes outside observations w/out any true experience. you think the extreme poor people that you stand up for care about you? go to the people of less priviledge.

  • @NewbianGem7 chase gave the nypd a raise?? i highly doubt that, there have been no talks of raises in the NYPD, you can believe that. the city is so strapped for cash. if you paid attention before people got to where they needed to be they were all over the streets and wouldnt stay off. it was seroiusly aggravating.

  • @NewbianGem7 that i was addressing a specific issue (the troy davis protest). why not answer my questions first and then i'll answer yours instead of this useless banter. speak up and then i will respond. need me to repeat my questions and issues about the troy davis protest? or would you rather scroll down?

  • @NewbianGem7 spare you? how kindly you ignore my questions. you obviously have no idea what it's like to be in law enforcement, you have no idea what it's like to respond to a job where you know nothing but what the radio tells you, a man with a gun, and to have that man not respond to your lawful commands to not move. its easy for you to judge b/c you know nothing about that world. you obviously have not read on how other countries deal w/their protestors. you also seem to not understand..

  • @asianprelude200 Also check out: Amadou Diallo, Oscar Grant, John Collardo (an unarmed Latino youth who was recently killed in Washington Heights)...There are so many examples of the same criminality that police display in this country. Many of the latest protests that I've attended involving the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement have had their share of police brutality &many officers have secretly told protestors that they're on our side & don't agree with everything going on....so please, spare me

  • @asianprelude200 Police in a capitalist society are here to protect the rich and the rich ONLY. You'll find out the hard way one day. And as someone who has lived in the inner city my entire life I've seen people of color (specifically) have their rights violated over and over again...maybe you should do some research on the Stop and Frisk campaign they have going on right now and find out exactly how JUST that is.

  • @asianprelude200 Wait....you were there?? I mean....from what it sounds like you know everything because you saw it firsthand...It is not illegal to protest and exercise your freedom of speech in this country. People were protesting and when we actually arrived to Liberty Plaza we WERE on the sidewalk and the cops continued to push us anyway. It's funny you say that they're here to protect our freedoms, but yet on Saturday the heads at JP Morgan Chase decided to give them a $4.6 million bonus

  • Why can't we just hold hands and love each other?

  • that right tell it like it is ,we going to get our country back, the beast has awaken , there is know no stoping her now ron paul 2012
