Winner of Fraser Institute's viewer's choice award for 2010.

By: Thomas Coiner
For: The Fraser Institute
Description: California Civil Code Section 1746-1746.5 is established to decide what video games fall under the law. It's plagued with vague phrases in which have no boundaries of jurisdiction. This video intends to open the eyes of citizens and show them how far California is trying to push its limitation of our freedom of speech. The Government needs to have faith in parents protecting their kids from video games as they do for instances like letting their teenager drive, watching their food behaviors, and keeping them healthy. This video will also present the question of what's after the banning of video games? Will these laws over-run every artistic media outlet? If California gets away with banning video games what will be next on the chopping block?

  • Hey friend. Congratulations on passing us; you did exactly what I had wanted to do, with all those last minute votes. How did you pull off 100 votes so early in the morning? I'm really impressed!

  • @WeArtCulture Hey! I thank you for making me push hard throughout this week and congrats on your video, job well done! as far as the 100 votes, luckily I had found a niche in the video gaming community, as this is what my video is on. I went to their forums and boards and asked them to watch and like. So in the end I did what I think the Fraser Institute wanted me to do and spread the word effectively. Lets now hope we can get the judges behind our message and win some awards!

  • this is one of the extensions of government power that is hijacking people's lives. the game of government controlling people's lives needs to end. it is not the government's job of being the parent. parents are responsible for allowing children to play video games that is questionable. everybody needs to stop being fooled by the government and say enough is enough to the growing government power.

  • This is bull! So movies can have all they want but video games are banned! It restricts interactive art. It is up to the parents to choose what there kids do or don't play. If they can ban games then they can ban anything. There go our freedoms.
