Coloring Anime Drawings on Gimp - Part 1 - Setup

This is a tutorial series that teaches the basics of coloring anime-style drawing on gimp. Part 1 includes how to import you picture in to gimp and how to separate the clean line art from the white background and put it on it's own separate transparent layer. This video has information on layers, as well as the color selection tool.

!THANK YOU! Finally a relivent video. oh, and your "Generic" cat girl drawing is pretty good. I drew my default and many other things, I also write.... and now I can color those said drawings... Once again, Thank You!

thats a kinda complicated way to get rid of the white background. I just Create new layer<white, then on the original layer, i delete the white background.

I scan my pictures to, but they turn out gross with black splotches all over, and when I try to retrace the lines I can't >.< Gah, I hate it sometimes
