I recently had this paired with some rather sweet fresh scallops in oil at the meddlesome moth in Dallas. I'd never heard of the beer previously, but I thought it paired perfectly with a sweet light bodied shell fish. I was definitely satisfied.

I dont really see how this beer could ever be malty... just over 1/3 of the fermentables are from beer itself, the rest from grapes and honey. (a beer with the og of 1.025 would probably be more malty). Next, honey does not necessarily add sweetness OR viscosity, in fact it will likely contribute the opposite, a dry and bodyless product. Why? because sweetness and viscosity come from the sugars which are 100% fermentables and alcohol is in fact less viscous than water.

That is a very interesting beer. I've bought it twice and both liked it and didn't really like it, both at the same time. It works better in the winter, I think. And, with such an alcohol punch, it's a 12oz wine, really. :D I know I'll buy it again this winter and see if I like it better.

good vid guys ~
I think this beer should be drank at room temperature because it's based on a recipe that was eons before refridgeration. I still havent had this one yet, but I've heard it's only okay. Someday I will.
