What are you talking about? What's wrong with the art direction?

"We’re making a film of art and politics and the power of the pen over the sword, and I think that is an eternally relevant story. And I think today art is just as important as it was 500 years ago...Hope people can embrace the film in the way it was made which is to really celebrate the plays and the power of the written word more than who wrote them." - John Orloff author of Anonymous screenplay.

it makes me sad that people are letting the disagreement about whether shakespeare wrote the plays, etc. or not get in the way of watching a beautifully made film.

i think it's great that this movie was made. believe in the 'conspiracy' believe in the 'old truth' it doesn't matter; what matters is this movie will make you think, and that is something that many movies aren't able to boast (many being the operative word -- note that i did not say 'all')

Historical details? Don't historians know next to nothing about who Shakespeare really was? The only records being that he was born to a working class father and had primary education? There have been speculations that Shakespeare was only a name royalty used for their plays, or he may have even been a figurehead for which high-end officials would request plays written from? No one really knows.

I can't believe you're defending him for this. I liked 2012 to a point, it was enjoyable, but (and this is important) MINDLESS fun. Anon doesn't even seem to have the silly factor, so I can't see what will be enjoyable here.

So what? Why a film have to be realistic to be good? Besides, it's a film, not real life.

Knowing the historical details, ruins this movie already for me. So cheezy, just like 2012, etc...
