This is a clip from the now defunct amusement park in Lunenburg, MA. "Whalom Park - For a Whale of A Time" DVD, produced and directed by Paul L'Ecuyer, (Entertainment Director 1980-1989) Whalom Park closed in 2000 after over 100 years of providing it's patrons a place for fun and relaxation. The land was purchased by a developer and plans are underway for a 240 unit 'Gated' condomimium complex. Although groups of people formed to 'Save the Park' from destruction, Whalom Park was lost forever in 2006 when every existing building and ride on the site was destroyed and removed in a matter of weeks.
Relive the fun, the rides, the games and the shows that were always part of a visit to this wonderful old amusement park in N. central MA.
The entire one hour DVD is available from www.drawbridgepuppets.com and also includes unedited footage taken at the park before the operating day began. You'll see every ride and game, mini-golf, the center stage, Kiddie-land, the Water slide, the ballroom, roller-rink, and the 'Comet' Roller-Coaster. There are also scenes of the park at night while operating with the rides lit-up - and a Fourth of July fireworks display.
