  • @ACuda86 Actually, the record belongs to the British HMS Furious with 20" guns!

  • @f3hdemon zone of immunity for Iowa out ranged Yamatos,,,,, USN superheavy 16" has better penetration and more reliable exploders coupled with radar ranging and the huge speed advantage to keep inside her zone of immunity at will....she was lighter by din of modern stronger and lighter steel, USN only nation that also used Special Treatment Steel(STS) for its non armoured parts and that made them even stronger... earlier USN modern BB's also had same advantages.

  • @f3hdemon

Well thats BS since 10 cm radar were more reliable. Problems with 3cm is that it wasnt good in bad weather. And is only useful at long range. Radar took time to lock onto which nowadays is said to be 7 to 11 minutes because you also need to find which way the target is going. You do not know how big the target is because you can only see the tower with radar, could be a Kongo for all Iowa knows and it requires targets moving slow speeds and in areas with no large landscape.

  • there should be more ship games like this

  • @forgottenbattles1 Not Quite,

The Sovietsky Soyuz Class was Better Armed & Armoured & Twice as many were Planned,

Nothing (ship to ship) Could have Sunk the Yamato (Apart from some British Disign's Conceved for the same Reasons as The Yamato (To Overpower & Distroy the U.S. Fleet.

  • It took two hours and 270 planes to sink that monstrosity.. Russian vessels wouldn;t last a minute against it. Hell..it was almost twice the size of the Iowa!

  • I'm curious - who gets that early hit on the Yamato? When it happens, neither ship has made contact with the other, and all their main turrets are in neutral position, but someone scores a hit. And after that you can hear more shells coming in, still before initial contact is made.

  • @kornek21 Thanks. I love the graphics of the Battlestations games, and they look like a lot of fun, but for me they seem to be a bit lacking in realism (which I understand - they did it this way to increase play value).

This game definitely lacks the graphics but it somehow has a more realistic 'simulator' feel to it, rather than being more of a shooter like the Battlestations games.

  • @deino117 battlestations pacific and battlestations midway

  • i think BISMARCK IS WAY BETTER THAN BOTH OF THOSE BATTLESHIPS!
