  • Hey ! BBC Learning English is such a great website, and Teacher your videos are usefull.

I have 1 question if someone could answer to me ^^

Can these idioms be used in other sports or situations ? Or can they only be used for boxing ?

  • Hi TranceEcstacy! I'm glad you like my website. Yes, you can use these idioms in other situations, not just about boxing.

    Take care, The Teacher.

  • Hi!

Is the idiom "below the belt" considered slang?

Because I think it would be inappropriate to say a female "That was below the belt", am I wrong?

    Thanks.

  • Hello Spidershines!

Good question. Yes it's slang but don't worry, it's not rude. And yes, a woman can say it too.

    The Teacher.

  • Why the videos are so rare, since are so useful for no native English speakers. One per week could be the recommended ratio. Useful video as always
