Preston Singletary, from Seattle, has been called a bridge artist between the two artistic traditions of the Northwest Coast and glassmakers. He attended the Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, Washington, where glass artists from all over the world come to learn. He says: Glass is among newest medium to be adapted to Northwest coast imagery, possible because the two have a shared artistic legacy of being fine art as well as utilitarian.
