I don't hate Near, just for the record. I merely don't like him because he kinda creeps me out. Also, L was just... better.

@GoodOlChippy1 I think most of the animosity from the L fandom comes from the fact that he called L a loser (first appearance), claimed to admire L when he focused not on avenging L but on beating him (method of investigation), and just went on to be an L clone by the end of the series (One Shot). The Kira fandom sends theirs because he beat Kira with the luckiest break ever (Mello) despite being led by the nose for so long. Also, Matsuda's theory and the possible hypocrisy can't help things.
