This is a video of Michael Polesky's last stage performance. It was recorded Saturday eveing Nov. 5, 2011 at the Garden State Harmonica Festival in East Hanover, New Jersey.
This is an exerpt from a Nov. 26th Harp_L post by his close friend David Fairweather.
I'm very sad to inform you all that Michael Polesky passed last night around 10:30 pm on November 25, 2011. As many of you know, Michael was very sick with lung and liver cancer. Although he was unable to attend SPAH 2011 in Virginia last August where he received this years Award of Merit, Michael and his family did make the trip to the Garden State Harmonica Festival in New Jersey last month where he delivered his last on stage performances and received a nice round of applause. He wanted you
all to know how very grateful and proud he was of the SPAH Award of Merit and spoke frequently of his gratitude for it. Michael is survived by his wife Sherri and his daughter Marilyn.

  • good harmonica players!

  • I always enjoyed his smiles at SPAH.....He LOVED the chromatic harmonoicas.....Thanks Danny, David and Rob...RIP Michael....You will live forever in our hearts.....

  • I like the way he wasn't ready to stop after just one chorus - he still had one more in him!

  • Thank You So Much For This Posting.

Just to let you know I played with The Garden State Harmonica Club Ensemble for 10 yrs and recently moved to VA. The Festival's and their people are so much a part of me.

    Lorraine Dienno.

  • Believe it or not this was only 3 weeks ago, not even 'last month'. I had the privilege of spending some time at the last jazz jam with Michael. He was so frail and knew his time was running down but he played so well. I'll miss him so much. We all loved him...a special, special guy in the harmonica world. I'll try to get my own videorecordings of Michael up asap.
