update: The students kept fighting & DIDN'T give up. They sued the Stony Brook president, university, & SUNY Board of Trustees in NYS Supreme Court ---- and won! On August 27, 2010 The Court ruled that Stony Brook university & its president violated state law & the closure is ILLEGAL. Now awaiting the judgement to re-open for Spring 2011
