@DReidGuitars In the UK 10 PRS' come in below the equivalent Gibson's and around the same price a Fender CS Relic. So not overpriced for a very well made guitar. (of course if like me you like PRS' you would also go for the NOS Fender CS and that is cheaper)
@BlueAvenue22 Of course I can hear the difference. Go look at eric johnson playing cliffs of dover with an SG. I get bitched up every time someone says it sounds the same. What Im saying, I can dial in the tone of the guitar to match pretty much what I Want. Playing through a bunch of effects and heavy distortion nullifies the tone segment. At that point its more about which pickups you have in the guitar then the instrument itself. or is THAT your point?
i hate how people bash on PRS for being so called "overprice". guess what, they have SE MODELS, the Starla, Mira, Dc3, nf3 models which cost way under 3 grand. Another thing is that PRS, though a pretty young company, has done tremendous innovations, that Fender and Gibson couldn't do. Trust me Fender and Gibson stop trying along time ago, but PRS they're just starting. But in the end who cares it's your life, play whatever guitar YOU like, who cares whatever anyone else thinks.
@JgHaverty If you can't hear the difference between your twenty different guitars you have no business playing the instrument. Replicating or creating music does not make one a musician.
To those who still dispute the INSTRUMENTS key role in tone should search paul reed smith demoing his custom 24 and all the different tones he gets without touching the amplifier.
AMAZING GUITAR...AMAZING SOUND

I played a custom 24. I will never play a guitar that feels better. They're surprisingly thin, but it sounded like god was singing through the amp.

@JgHaverty You mean like how The Edge plays a bunch of vintage guitars and they all sound like an early 80's Yamaha synth on guitar patch?
