at 5:43 you have to admit sometimes is really hard to know where the shuttle will pass when it is played a half smash/ quick drop shot by your opponent and intercept it as soon as possible

a good crosscourt net shot crosses the net somwhere around the middle of the net if the shuttle is already a little below the net tape

I think that too and also how high is your contact point with the shuttle, but I have to admit he has a point, because when someone flick serves to you, most of the times you are not expecting that, so you can't play the drop shot that well

Paul, wouldn't the focal point vary depending on the speed of the drop shot? So wouldn't that change which area of focus on the net your opponent is covering? How would you determine it in-game?

As a badminton coach, I have applied it on court with players very successfully. It's only a matter of training the eye and response.

There are a number of simple training exercises that really help to cement this.

Overall, as a coach, I'm not interested in theory. I'm always looking for practical ways to improve players at any standard.
