Sue started feeling remorse right after the shower incident. In the book it's clear she's shocked about her reaction, right after Ms. Desjardin (who was renamed Ms. Collins for the movie) enters the shower. In the book (and in the workshop script for the musical version, interestingly) Desjardin is also confused by her reaction, as she wanted to "shake her".
The book gives a lot of depth to Sue and Tommy, I deeply recommend reading it.

@TFPTrading Just looked back on the wiki and it was the gym teacher, Ms Collins, who was the only one that was nice to her. If Sue actually felt any remorse then why didn't she show it earlier?

@Thomasveach95 You can't blame her for what happened. Loads of people made her life at school a misery and the pig blood is what completely tipped her over. Chris isn't the one to blame as she was the only one was nice to her. When you're as enraged as Carrie was you lose all perspective of who's on your side and just end up attacking everyone and anyone.
