this engine or any rotary should have been a special model for the miata.

theres a 20b (na) 3 rotor one on here too - search "3 rotor miata at auto cross"

@theboxmodder actually the RENESIS rotary is the best production rotary so far. 250hp n/a. The 13b only makes 130hp. The RENESIS is also more fuel efficient and is actually 30% more effecient in the combustion cycle, hence the reason for more power with the same 1.3l displacement. the RX9 rotary will outperform both as well as being lighter (aluminum block) 1.8L, rumored 400+hp n/a

Haha.... the new rotaries are a lot more reliable though. I would prefer more drive time than wrench time.

The RX8 motor isn't all that good compared to an RX7. I would recommend the 13B with a turbo or NA. That would be nice in a newer Miata.
