It is time that we put some sense back into our defense budget and stop funding weapon systems we dont need. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and President Barack Obama have proposed a budget that will end production of the F-22 Raptor at 187 planes. We dont need anymore. In fact, we arent even using the ones we have in the two wars we are fighting. To buy more than the 187 in the presidents budget is simply irresponsible.

God shit like this pisses me off. Yea its true that we dont need the F22 for the current wars but how could people be so narrow minded??? The F22 guarantees the success for the wars of tomorrow. Russia is developing their own stealth fighter (the sukhoi T-50 I belive, correct me if I'm wrong) and even the Indians are going into the 5th generation fighter business, wont be too long before china steals the technology from the russians and has their own 5th gen stealth fighter

they will never make 1000 5th generation fighter jets, only the u.s. has money for something like that. You have to remember that we still make 3x more than china and 7x more than russia every year.

And we will have over 2,400 f-35's which are 5th generation fighter jets.

We need more F-22's. And it is the best fighter in the world. And Obama has spent more money in the 9 months he has been in office then every other US president combined. Obama's spending will effect our grand kids a 1,000 times more then the F-22. The f-22 wont affect our grand kids at all.

It is going to be a nightmare when China and Russia get 5th gen technology. And they create about a 1,000 a piece. They will over power are air force. We may not need the f-22 now but we will soon. Trust me everyone very soon. China wants to take over Asia. I hope congress brings back production of hte f-22. I want it gaurding my back when I am fighting for my country.

The F-22 is currently the best fighter in the world, and it looks like it'll stay like that for awhile. This is a time where the U.S. can't afford a weaker military, since there are many potential conflicts around the globe that may develop soon. I would suggest selling and getting rid of the older fighters in the U.S. arsenal and gradually replace them with the F-22's, so that way the airforce becomes stronger and so we don't end up having all the other obsolete designs like the F-16.
