Hawaiian Steel Guitar "SAND" by Ross Costa

A favorite among steelers, this classic song evokes the soft, lilting sounds of the islands. "Sand" was written by the great steel guitarist & saxophonist Andy Iona in 1930. life is great. i've been playing over 30 gigs a month for the last 3-4 years. i play solo for the old folk during the day. i have a piano duo i play with about once a month play in a trio in san francisco about 3-4 times a month for the last 4 years. i have some guys i've played with for over 20 years with about 4 different names so we can play different niche's, oldies surf variety,etc.what town are you in?

hey ross, sounding great. i used to love to go see jerry byrd and have a bunch of his albums. glad to see you're carryin' on the tradition. i remember you playing across the street from us (cactus jack)when we were at moose mcgillicuddys on lewers back in the early 80's. keep up the good work!...

@1rockinregi hey i remember you ! how u been ? i took lessons from jerry for about a year in '78....i enjoyed your piano vids....that's some banged up pie-annie ya got there ... has that vintage sound ! i moved to so-cal (never, ever thot i'd live here) but it's quite nice where we live & i'm doing what i like....teaching tai chi & playing music
