Vamizi Island is home to one of the world's most amazing crustaceans - the terrestrial coconut crab. Grant Brokensha spends some time filming these creatures as they interact with their smaller cousins, the hermit crabs.

@spritsengiggle now i want to find one and keep giving it fruit to see if it will allow me to become its friend, then take it home and continue feeding it until it dies.

@FightersOfEve You couldn't crack it's shell. Your foot is too soft. Also; You would make it angry, it would latch onto your foot, and then it would indiscriminately start to dissect you foot with it's claws. No, I'm not kidding, I'm being realistic, lol! :D However, if you hand it some fruit,it would probably think you are cool.:)
