* Starfish Foster Home * xian'09 ... for Viola

Some of the greatest, beautiful, intelligent, and courageous kids i've been privileged to volunteer/ work with.

The Starfish Foster Home, under Amanda De Lange, brings home orphans in need of more attention / specific needs / treatment that their state orphanage is unable to provide.

The homes dedicated and caring environment not only treats their individual hardships (neglect, spinal bifida, club feet, heart conditions, cleft palates, undernourishment- to name the most common) but adjacently provides them with endless individual attention allowing each of these fighters to thrive in their development. Once their health turned around, each child remains in this happy loving environment until matched with an adoptive family.

I cannot begin to describe how much good this incredible local charity does. Please help them continue transforming the lives of more infants.

I want to share this beautiful email I received ..

Our reality is so different to that of the millions of victims of a austere , unjust and cruel life.

We can ask ourselves what can be done so that children do not suffer, that nobody goes hungry, and so that governments stop selling arms to protect their own people from self destruction. Very difficult to answer, only through personal gestures .. Amanda and all the of other anonymous individ, bring man back to his rightful place : being human.

I love this video. It was so wonderful to meet you last September 2010. My husband Jon and I would love to come and volunteer to help with the Foster home. This may happen sometime within the year.

Once upon a time there was a young lady throwing starfish back in the ocean and people would ask her why she was doing so?

The sun is up, and the tide is going out; if I don't throw them in they'll die.

But, young lady, don't you realize that there are miles of beach and starfish all along it; you can't possibly make a difference!

The young lady would listen politely, pick up another starfish and throw it into the sea, past the breaking waves before saying: It made a difference for that one.
