  • i have no problem with folks raising bunnies for food, but i hate that they never have space to move. The poor things are cramped up on a wire floor. I d wanna have somthing so they could run around a little at least.

  • @misstresst I let them run in the room a few at a time so I dont get them confused because we keep records.

  • Your body only needs little amounts of proteins to thrive - too much is not good, eating meat every day is not good for the body. The body thrives off of fresh fruits, and vegetables. Do you have fresh fruit/vegetable gardens to sustain a family for months?...dried fruits/vegetables have been severally damaged from the dehydration process and hold little nutrients. No one really knows how long a person can survive off of dried food stuffs.

  • @Wirechoke You bring up good points for sure that is why you need a well rounded plan that includeds alot of fresh food. I grow alot of food and when I have the greenhouse built it will be even better.

  • you should grow alfalfa. rabbits dont take alot.

  • @Wirechoke Your body does not require the intake of carbohydrates (fruits and veggies) to survive or thrive. The body is capable of making the few carbs it requires by turning protein into sugars. It cannot assemble the eight essential amino acids that you get from animal proteins. The Inuit have been living many years on a diet of 60% fat and 40% protein.

  • @cutlerylover

    Id eat people over animals!!!

    oh,thats good then!

Im a vegetarian(well, i dont eat anything that cares for their young,so I at eggs, and fish),but with the shitty economy, the price of fish, and vegetarian protein, and the huge amount of mercury in canned tuna, its hard to get enough protein.Id consider raising rabbits....I dont think i could kill'em tho. Of course if the SHTF Id be the first one out there with a rabbit mallet!! ha
