I remember these ads now, but I had forgotten all about them until I came across an Australian Abba website.

It is a shame Olivia Newton-John didn't do any ads for Thorn or Helen Reddy doing some for Rank-Arena. If that happened, the awesome levels would have gone through the roof!

Go ahead and laugh if you want to, but these commercials (about half a dozen in all I believe) went a long way towards paying for the production costs of ABBA's Australian concert tour in '77.

I loved this add.....I remember being 5 or 6 and turning the sound WAY up...but Fernando was a top ten hit for about 3 months in Australia....sad fucks we were....for National....Now we love fast food...for NANDO's!!!

when i was young and this came on the TV my older brother would jump up and turn OFF the TV just to get me mad, he hated ABBA !! .. i would run out crying to mum " I missed it" Waaa !! it wasnt often i could see it till we moved to BRISBANE and it was on Brisbane TV all the time, as was their Channel 7 "colour your world" AD, they also done while they were here in OZ ... YUP bro , ABBA were everywhere ha ha ha > he was a bastard of a brother sometimes ...
