The publics enthusiasm make Nico smile; then she performs an ''unplugged'' harmonium[organ]-version of 'Genghis Khan' from her cd 'Drama of exile' ; after that stunning performance she sings 'You forgot to answer' .

  • All of her songs, regardless of their arrangement on the records, always sound so much better when does them solo on harmonium. I wish there were more recordings of her early concerts around. Or that she had done more solo shows in the 80s.

  • so underrated.

This is of the quality of hearing Pablo Casals play the cello pieces of Bach

  • "I'm absolutely convinced that some day, when people have ears to hear [Nico] in the same way that people have eyes to see a van Gogh now, that people are just gonna go, 'WHOOOAAA!'"

  • when heroin took over her she have created new music style hehe

  • "...you forget to answer."

beautiful she unique & her always music.

    Thanks!

  • This reminds me of something like a less virtuosic, but more soulful, Diamanda Galas. Love it. Love it. Whereas Diamanda is a more in control artist, this is just like, total tragedy, very sad and beautiful. Sounds like the voice of the goddess of death.

  • Great footage, thanks for the upload. Nico = Icon

  • only sublime

  • I love her so much. She's a huge inspiration to me.

Yes, it is his autobiography but he does write quite a lot about his mother, mostly in the form of various anecdotes. She was a very spiritual and sensitive person and was always travelling all over the world. He does speak about her death too, which has been particularly devastating for him. I think he really paints a much more human portrait of her rather than all those rumours that have been told in the past.
