I was 12 years old when this was a hit. The world was a beautiful place to be back then. Countdown on the telly Saturday and Sunday arvo, then Doctor Who. Playing cricket in the street, with the neighbours kids. Riding our bikes wherever we wanted to go.

I was also 12 when this was a hit.Countdown with Molly Meldrum...hey hey its Saturday.....cricket,Mr whippy icecream..........jumping into the pool that was like a hot bath...Sherbet ,dragon or skyhooks on my record player....meat pies, scallops and chips.........my ....Those really were the DAYS !! Australia.....There is no better place FULLSTOP!

Since everyone else is getting nostalgic......my first school dance and actually getting girl's phone numbers, Laurie Zammit's old FC Holden, Moana Beach, my first clumsy but secret date, finding a pack of Old Port Colts that I didn't share with the other fellas, the Air Cadets, the chick next door who wore that immodest bikini (now that wasn't fair!), my first transistor radio, Lillie and Marsh, fish 'n chips on Friday nights....and so on and so forth...

I was 11 but was unable to hear this sound and song what can one say did see the band at Festival Hall in Bris ( no longer there and met a lovely young man ,who I never saw again ) life was so lovely and beautiful then in 1977

bondi beach, zinc cream, hot chips, midge farrelly surfboards, best mates, hawaiian shirts, eastern suburbs roosters, dennis lillee, jeff thomson, megatron trucks, powell perralta wheels, casey kasem's americaaaaaaaan top 40, hoyts george st, apricot spurt bubble gum, getting the cuts.....oh man what else?

This is my era. Although the clothes and dancing were very different to today's standards, the artists were what they were - embedded in the culture. What a fabulous arrangement of various instruments and brilliant harmony from Darryl, excellent, and yes, a hit cover - why not??

It wasn't Cavalry it was Calvary..no video I know of and yes I was a screamer back then..not a grandparent yet so my kids don't give a crap or understand the 70's aussie music lol..bring it back!!
NZOZ, I think Sherbet used to do a song called 'Motor of Love'. Do you remember it, or have a video of it? I'd love to hear it again.
