19 year old inglis would of made hayne look stupid. he was 100+ kg in this race with a injury. And the fact that matt bowen hasnt been mentioned is a joke. he makes running around people look easy. plus the fastest man on the track doesnt mean hes the quikest on the field big difference.
@Holden308 Totally agree this means nothing. AND we'd all love to see all the speedsters compete to really know who is the fastest. But that said Hayne would be close to, if not the fastest NRL player over the 100, but, as far as football fast goes, (over the 40m) sure, there's a heap of guys quicker over the 40. Soward is lightning over the 40 and probably the quickest IMO, that's not limited to him tho, there are some freaks over the 40, way too many to list and all quicker than Hayne!
If anyone saw State of Origin game 3 in 2011 they would have seen Jharal Yow Yeh run down Hayne over a 40m sprint when Hayne had a 3-4m flying start so for anyone who thinks that Jarryd Hayne is the fastest in RL then forget it. There are others who weren't in this race who would have left him 4 dead. Same with the Union, Aussie rules and soccer guys. This wasn't a true representation of Australia's fastest footballers.
@cuddybundi thanks, finally someone who agrees, i knw these r australias fastest footballers, but what a race it would be between the guys i mentioned in my comment ay
rod davies (queensland reds) mikaele pesamino (manu samoa 7s,fastest player in 7s) bryan habana (springboks, stormers) tonderai chavanga (springboks, lions) takudza ngwenya (usa, biarittz) doug howlett ( former all black, currently at munster) paul sackey (england, wasps) tom varndell (england 15s,7s) pierre spies (springboks, bulls) sosene anesi (chiefs, waratahs) and i could go on,but all these guys i mentioned, now this would be a great race! in terms of fast players, union kills league
@dooshsayswhat Jennings yes. Forget Slater. He's at least 10 metres slower than Hayne. Very nimble over a short distance, but don't be fooled into thinking he's got any real speed over 100m. He hasn't.

Poor Inglis. He would of gone close if we hasn't injured. He was up there after 30. then injury got the better.
