Crass: There is No Authority but Yourself
A filmic portrait of this last Punk stonghold.

The anarchist punk band Crass was very different from their contemporaries. The Sex Pistols and The Clash sold their souls to big record labels, whereas Crass stayed true to their anti-corporate ideals. Crass still exists today as a commune just outside of London named 'Dial House'- a safe haven for those individuals of principle who still live by the old punk slogan 'Do it yourself'.

Director

Alexander Oey (1960) has directed a large number of documentaries, mainly for the Dutch networks VPRO and NPS, such as 'My Life as a Terrorist: The Story of Hans - Joachim Klein' (2005), 'Euro-Islam according to Tariq Ramadan' (2005),'Bijlmer the Rough Guid' (2003) and 'Jeff Wall' (1999).

There's so much more to tuning than just Crass but it was a good idea. If they get paid a big wad to play then who cares. I wouldn't pay for it unless it was a new album and really interesting Pop. For them to be POST PUNK now makes no sense.
