Well, David Clarke won the preselection on Friday night to continue in the New South Wales Upper House 50 votes to 36.
So, all the conspiring, conniving and maneuvering by Alex Hawke and the President of the Liberal Party on Nicholas Campbell have come to nothing. But remember Alex Hawke was in league with the President of the Liberal Party, where do these people stand today? In any other business they would both be run out of town. The President should be run out and Hawke should be removed from the seat of Mitchell.
To think that someone like Alan Cadman represented the seat of Mitchell with such honour, such dignity and such distinction for years...to have all of that put at risk by someone of the ilk of Alex Hawke. David Clarke has won but the cancers in the Liberal Party in New South Wales remain although full marks to Barry O'Farrell. He did lay the law down quite clearly and that probably did turn the tide.
