  • Is it weird that a credit card commercial makes me cry? Cause I really started to cry. I love Jim Henson with all my heart. He is my hero. He is greatly missed. :'(

  • People should care about Jim Henson because he's the creators of The Muppets and the original voice of Kermit the Frog.

  • i miss you, Mr Henson. :'c

  • This one's more complete at the very beginning than the OgilvyMuseum version that can be found here on YouTube, but I like the other one's picture quality better. Maybe someone can cobble them together.

As for Strangepork, that's the "At the Dance" proto-Strangepork in the purple tux, seen in Season One. He was converted into Dr. Julius Strangepork for Season Two, if I remember correctly, so that could nail down the timeline to within the first Season of the Muppet Show.

  • We still miss you, Jim.

  • This is silly!

  • It's kind of a shame that last, I don't know, two seconds are cut. When Jim goes the American Express card and all you hear from the Muppets are "Don't leave home without....

As for when this was made, since I seen Niguel (the yellow muppet) and Jim doesn't have a more gray bread he got from later years. So I'm thinking during season 1 or at the most season 2 of the Muppet show. So I'm thinking 1976 or 1977. No later than 1978, I'm thinking.

  • @superleviathan Sorry I removed by last comment. I was thinking of a different American express card that uses this extact same footage as this one, but this isn't it. This one must of been from the 70s or 80s. But they reused this footage in 2008 and that's what I was thinking of. again sorry for my mistake.

  • @doctorwhoobawooba I get the impression that it's just simply archive footage. The card at the end doesn't look like any specific card (American Express or otherwise) so it may just be footage from something else?
