great voice great orchestra. i cannot enjoy fabulous performance not for musical reasons. i get emotional crying reading about his tragic life. i get depressed. but he was a great singer rated highest 15+ he was thrilling!!!!! ROGHARM but i play these youtube to be made happier. i feel awful thinking how he endured. i love my cat and extreme care of her it distresses greatly how people kill people a pretense that they are better than an ethnicity race or religion. opinions accepted. kurt weil

The magnificent voice in cooperation with the very gifted composer present to us really unforgettable pleasure. Unfortunatelly J. Schmidt was destroyed by the Nazi-Swiss cooperation but the Viennese born composer Hans May (born Johann Mayer) luckily escaped the Nazi regime. J. Schmidt and H. May successfully cooperated in the 30's and we lost a lot when this cooperation was broken by the Nazis. Songs sound as if they were recorded only yesterday.
