David Calder has played many roles including Shakespeare's King Lear, Shylock and Propero and he is an associate artist at the Royal Shakespeare Company. He speaks in his personal capacity in this video.

London's Globe Theatre invited Habima, Israel's National Theatre, to perform in their Shakespeare festival in May 2012. Their participation in the festival was strongly opposed by many actors, playwrights and directors, because Habima performs in Israel's illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The reasons for boycotting Habima are presented in interviews by some of those who opposed the visit.
