He granted me Shodan in 1990, when I was just ten. I idolised sensei but was scared stiff of him also.

Enoeda Sensei was a Real samurai.
Beside this he was a gentleman.
Shotokan Karate and Enoeda Sensei were sinonimous.

If what you say is correct, then i am feeling bad for these types. This world is alien to you and your foes.

Hi Rod, thank you for your answer. Graham Richardson, yes, this sounds familiar to me. Please say hello to him, when you see'll him next time. It's a pretty long time ever since. A prize? Why not? Either a self-illuminated rubber chocolate cookie, or a beer when I will be in London the next time. But this might last until I'll be back on the short-haul flights and have the chance to visit LHR again.
Never mind the hair, as a good picture doesn't need a frame. ;-)
Take care and cheers.
OSS, Dirk

Well done Magicmitts for putting this video online. Its a great way to remember Sensei Enoeda - his power, his teaching and of course his humour.

I've trained at Marshall Street in 1994 during my semester as a german exchange student in London. My farewell training was on June, 17 1994, when I graded my 1st kyu under Sensei Enoeda. I will never forget that privilege.
Joining his classes, gave me the realisation to make a step ahead on the lifelong road of karate-do.
I still remember some faces.
Does anybody know who the fine gentleman with the dark beard is, who is coming into the picture from the left at time 3:05?
Goodbye Sensei Enoeda.

@fujicolt Hi Steve,
yes, Thursday 20th Jan Craig will be opening the revered dojo once more.
Can't think of anyone more suited to re-launch the club!

Long time ago i`ve trained at Marshall Street with Enoeda. Fantastic man. In this video was nice to see Craig Raye. He will not remember me. But i never forget him. Craig was the best Karate, and for that martial artist i have ever seen. Sometimes he took the classes. They were great.I am sure Enoeda where he is in heaven is proud of Craig. I know practise kickboxing and jujitsu but i will never forget Enoeda and Craig.

Lumamofecare - thanks for the comments - I'll let Craig know. I train with him now at Kawasoe sensei's dojo, and he teaches there sometimes - excellent classes.
