To mark the launch of the D&AD YouTube channel, we've asked some of the world's leading creatives if they think online video is the next frontier. Here's what they think.
watching this pains me slightly. of course youtube is important, otherwise we would not be on it now. why is there this continual desire for stating the obvious? lets just be nice to eachother and make work which inspires and makes us question, not just sell sell sell.
Youtube is a great leveler as it currently make everything look crappy, only the best ideas get through and looking at the top 100 clips on here, not many of them are ads.
Shouldn't advertising on YouTube be called "The Next Freentier"? I wouldn't mind the amount of people hawking their junk for free here if they used the money saved, by not paying the tv companies, on higher production values but some of the stuff here bring to mind those awful local ads one used to see at the cinema. Show me a decent online ad that's not been run on tv and I might change my opinion.
A valuable lesson in pointing out the bloody obvious. In fairness to the interviewees, the question of whether online video is the next frontier isn't actually a question or a valid discussion point at all. Five years ago it might have been.

it's great because you can have access to videos and information you want to know about.
