High Same-Direction Reels

Lesson Type: Beginners

Prerequisites: Basic Spinning

Alternative Names: Shoulder reels, high turns, shoulder turns and the windmill.

In this tutorial I'll teach you how to do high same-direction reels. Another essential part of your reels spinning. This is also known as the windmill, although generally, the difference is that with the windmill, you bring your hands very close together, rather than over the shoulders.

If you ever have the time to check out my posted videos I do both low and high reels pretty well. The high reels I can do over and over with no trouble, but the low reels throw me. I can do them by 1 or 2 beats by transitioning to something else, but if I stand there and try to stay in a low reel the behind the back spin is still throwing me off every time. I can put up a video response tomorrow and hope for a response. I already know the answer ... practice practice practice.

the low ones are harder for me.i think i might have gotten the high reels before my low ones.

Yeah, that could be a good idea, it's good to get things down well, especially reels as they really are foundational to many poi moves. Post a response and I'll let you know how it is.
