Machine with Artichoke Petal #1 - Arthur Ganson

A failed attempt to cook an artichoke uncovered in a microwave oven resulted in this little withered petal that caught my heart. It moves carefully and with determination.

Sort of a modern take on it.

This clip is a great example of editing as storytelling. Every cut made me think "so what does it DO?" even harder. Even the "spoiler" in the title just ends up being a brilliant tease, like a cold open on a episode of

"Breaking Bad".

Never have I seen such a sad, penguin-like artichoke leaf.... reminds me of the time I tried to broil an eggplant... poor thing exploded and looked like Osti the Ice Age mummy found in the Italian Alps. Tasted great though.
