After more than a century of peaceful co-existence, the Wall Street Journal has decided to take on the New York Times head on with its Greater New York section. New owner Rupert Murdoch declared "let the battle begin." Is this going to be a newspaper war for the ages? Or have the readers already moved on....online?

  • @Writinit you say that like there are no right wing nutjob rags and tv stations.

  • I love that shark fin!! hahaha

  • Murdoch put Blair into power through his media empire and then got him to do the bidding of the zio-globalists for him: destroy Yugoslavia; open the UK's borders to Islam; protect with the force of the law all kinds of depravities; turn th UK into an open prison; destroy Israel's enemies in the middle east. He and his empire is perfectly in line with the Soros, Zionist, Murdoch, ADL/ACLU "philosophy" of destroying America and the rest of the world as Europe and the UK were destroyed.

  • WALL STREET JOURNAL ASIA has lost all its creditability. There are more lawsuits against them than any other newspaper.. you have to wonder what they are doing over there. The fact that there is a cartoon over their questionable behavior says it all. I would never read them for their "local" coverage as their editors and reporters are tainted by advertiser, BOUGHT NEWS ARTICLES! The government should shut them down.

  • We don't need NYTimes or WSJ; we just need Apple Daily.

  • Sulzberger is sometimes referred to as "Pinch," a play on his father's nickname ... which was "Punch"....get it?

  • Gary Peterson 76, btw....... Sulzberger IS sometimes referred to as "Pinch," a play on his father's nickname ...

  • To my many detractors: Ease up, awreddy--I'm a Glenn Beck, Tea Party fan who also enjoys the NY Times. I came here from the link on Drudge, not Mother Jones, okay? As you all must know, Beck, Rush, Levin, et al. each read the NYT too since they comment on it daily. The NYT has earned and is maintaining its place as "the paper of record." By the way, the name is "PUNCH" not Pinch, as in the video. The WSJ has alienated many "longtime" readers, but yes, gained many new, young, online subscribers.

  • @GaryPeterson67 "WSJ has alienated many of its longtime readers"? That's news. Their circulation has been going up, not down. Conversely, the Times continues their downward spiral. The best thing that can happen to the Times is that Carlos Slim throws out the Sulzbergers and turns it into a multi-media brand name. Say what you want abt. Murdoch, but he knows how to make money, and Pinch Sulzberger knows how to lose it.

  • supportingfire, The West certainly was stronger back then, but the reasons are many and run deep And it ought to make you question your suppositions. As for your characterization, it is naivete, of a sort, that fuels secularism. Note that the most intelligent people in history have been men of faith (Chesterton comes to mind). And, as he said, the atheist view of life makes sense as far as it goes. The problem is that it's a shallow view. And it is. And when I realized this, I became a believer.
