Two Tigers, a male and female, were captured and set against a pair of Buffalos.
The Tigress fought against a single Buffalo first, but declined combat after a brief encounter. Angered by her refusal, the crowd ordered her killed. The allged male Tiger was then set into the arena, and challenged by both Buffalos. Like his compaion, he rebuked the contest and was also soon put to death.
Tigers, like all other Big Cats, are usually intimidated by Bulls - be they captive or wild. Their fear increases in the arena. The Bull or Buffalo often proves to be the antagonist and victor in such bouts.
