I think Nintendo thought of putting Luigi as a co-op character. I think most people would've really enjoyed that. Co-Star mode is probably just there for regular non-gamers to play this game but without overwhelming the experience.

whats the point of having co star mode at all automatically u should have a 2 player mode where the 2nd person should be Luigi and the Grand Finale Galaxy should be unlocked when u beat the 3 stages and the 2nd player should be on one screen not 2

people please super mario galaxy is one of a kind! It is unique, and it is legendary! To all hardcore fans it's amazing, but to all those bloody gore violent game fans, id say take ur mind off blood for a sec and just enjoy the beauty of being able to LOVE the incredible gameplay of smg!

mario is actually more mature than halo 3 and cod4, because it requires a level of intellectuality that only mature players poses. just because a game has blood and violence doesnt mean its mature.
