  • i have this problemm tried everything! looks like ama need a new screen :(

  • @NottzBarzNBeatz If that is the only thing left to do, then that should fix it.

  • the reason why the screen goes off is, when the screen is on, its generating heat, causing a slight loose connection inside.. (expansion so ive been told) therefore to get the screen back on again.. lock the screen so it is black, take the back off the phone case and place on a cold glass surface.. leave for a few minutes and this should work. if you dnt believe its the heat. place in the fridge for a minute and it works :) its doesnt solve the problem blackberry should fix it hope this helps!!

  • @chloefinnan The problem with this particular white screen problem was it had ben sat on accidentally, therefore damaging it.

  • I have good news, it's not it's not a hardware problem and no you need any updates. i have {bold 9700} i change the housing and when turn on the phone i got the white screen of death, i looked ever way for a do it yourself with no luck, anyway i then start to take the phone apart with the phone turned on when disconnect flex cord that runs to camera and sd card, the screen working like new. I the reconnect the flex and that was it.. good luck and let me know if this worked for you:)

  • @gtyouth7 That's good news, in the case of this blackberry, it had been accidentally sat on, so it did need a new lcd from the damage it had sustained.

  • put the 9700 on cold air conditioned and shoul work

  • @NottzBarzNBeatz The problem is something with the flex cable that leads from the lcd screen to the motherboard. I didn't bother with where exactly it is, but I got me an electric tape and basically covered the flex cable from both sides with it. It seems to be permanent as there hasn't been malfunction since(done it +12hrs ago).

You need to open the phone. In my case I took apart the lcd so that I can cover the flex cable on the back side of it too.

  • PLEASE HELP ME!!!

  • @kalou Most of the time, a new lcd screen fixes the problem
