Crossing a river. The river current was strong enough that we used a boat to push the weasel to our desired landing site. I built a V shaped push block that drops into the pintle hitch and bolts to the winch bracket. We backed into the river, put the bow of the boat in the V and hooked a cable hoist to each side to keep everything lined up.

  • I have no idea what sort of current a weasel will buck and I didn't want any surprises. The weasels with factory float tanks on each end have skirts over the sides of the tracks so the top of the track isn't pushing backward. You can probably find out on the weasel forum. Some of those guys with swimmers must have tried them in a river.

  • What's that river making, out in the middle--about 7 knots? Not knocking weasels, but what's the most current it can handle without help? No hurry for an answer; it isn't as if I'm pricing them just now. But I live near a river that can hit 7 knots now and then. Best regards.

  • Hahaha those dogs were great!
