whats cotton worth? do you get paid by the ton? does everybody use bale spears or do dome use a grapple bucket?

Cotton is getting about $0.95 cents a pound right now. (for west Texas cotton) but it changes daily. For there round bales you have to use one of these bale movers although I've seen people using special spears too.

In a normal year anywhere from 2.5 to 4+ on irrigated, about 3/4 bale on dryland or a little better. This year we plowed up a bunch of irrigated because it failed due to the drought. Most fields made just over a bale to right around 2 bales.

@quadarinxxx Those bales weigh about 5000 lbs, give or take a little. I've seen some as heavy as 6000 lbs.
