I was also there at the shut-down on 11/2 (and on 12/12, where we had almost as many people), and I affirm there were probably 20,000 people there. I'm not a crowd checker either, but I have been to a lot of A's games.... the A's draw 10,000 people on a good night these days, sadly.  And those 10,000 people are a LOT smaller than the crowd that took the Port. When I read in the SF Chronicle that there were 3,000 people there, I felt a bit of me die. What a sad lie.

Civil disobedience creates more challenges than it solves .Wanna make a real difference try getting all the lower level of employes at wall mart to quit and help them with an alternative "without minions "THEY" have no power.Imagine how that would change a local economy "Disturbing the peace" is not protesting and looks bad on T.V

They thought it was too expensive, too hard because of too many people... Really Cenk? Diminish the numbers to down play the significance of the movement!? Secondly, they covered the fires later because it WAS EASY??? Come Cenk, you know damn well why they covered those fires instead, To categorized the movement as a bunch of crazy folks.. My question is, if there are so many people that want to live a socialist life, then why don't they? They are free to join a commune, or with these numbers create one themselves. Why do they want the gov't to force them into the fields when they are already free to go there?

If they are looking for an entire country of socialists, there are several successful examples, Cuba and Venezula come to mind.
