  • I have owned two Rollers, and you shouldn't be able to hear the engine!!!!!!!

  • @Ejayart What vintage were your cars? I have a friend who has a late 20's early 30's 20/25 and the only way you can tell that the engine is running is by looking at it. It is amazing. The Cloud I had you could CERTAINLY hear the engine, the right front piston was broken.

  • I am unsure of the series, as I am not very fimiliar with RR's. I will have to speak with the dealer on that! The owner of the silver spirit, I was told that he was a collector of rolls royce's. Also I saw TONS of documents for service and maintence on this, that is why I am considering buying this, because it appears to be very well maintained. What is it like driving an older RR? I have never driven one, hopefully I will be able to test drive this one soon.

  • @boatfreak009 When checking the service records see when the steering rack and the nitrogen spheres were last replaced. These are common problems with Spurs/Spirits. Check the ride, check the breaks, check the fluids. And make sure that the service has ONLY used the recommended fluids in the car. If not you may have a hydraulic nightmare on your hands. Is the dealer a R-R dealership? Can you get a R-R mechanic to inspect it? Also, I suggest joining the Rolls-Royce Owners' Club.

  • @ShandyHall I will be sure to ask and check for all of that when I go for a test-drive. It is a bentley dealership here in pittsburgh. Sadly, the only RR dealership in all of PA, In Sewickly, just closed down. I can ask and see if there is a certified RR mechanic. Hopefully everything is in order!

  • @boatfreak009 The Bentley dealership should be able to help you. Back when your car was built RR and Bentley were pretty much the same car. Good luck, and again, please join the RROC. They are a great help.

  • many people commented about the engine noise, but i like this groove V8 sound even in these cars!

  • Sorry, but you can't compare a Rolls-Royce with a Mercedes.

  • @ShandyHall I had a series 1 Shadow in white originaly owned by Rod Stewart, and then a Corniche FHC,.if I'm honest the Corniche was a little noisy when I got her, but a 'day' spent changing all the plugs had her back to silent!!!.

  • This car is perfect

  • CLASS!!

  • @boatfreak009 This is my second RR. I sold the Silver Cloud that I had to get this one.

Is the 1986 car that you are looking at a 1986 1/2 (20000 series)? There is a difference between the two. But as with any old car, it is the maintenance that counts, not the miles. 21,000 is VERY low and could indicate that the car has been neglected.
